Australian Shakespeare Company actors perform and unravel a specific Shakespeare play in a high energy journey for Year 11 and 12 English students. The 2010 production was Richard III, performed at the Athenaeum Theatre in April. 2011 production to be announced.
Using a combination of of live theatre, multimedia and audience participation, the VCAA English objectives are brought to life. Students have the opportunity to interpret key scenes, gain an understanding of the ideas and themes within the play and get to the heart of the primary characters. William Shakespeare makes a special appearance to demystify his language structure and give students a greater understanding of his use of theatrical conventions.
A complimentary teacher’s kit with in-class exercises, discussion points and further information on the play and Shakespeare is provided with every school booking.

Duration: two 45 minute halves plus a 20 minute interval
